We noticed this in one of the ditches near the pond in Axehead today. Small frogman, goose , duck or a seagull? Nice to see though. Click the pic to see it bigger.

A Grand Day Out

P7 from Pathhead School were down today in Gullet Wood. They had a project they are working on and meanwhile some made shelters which Anna tested by throwing a bottle of water over them. Some did tree identification – everything seems to start off as an oak/birch/beech/anything……… and looked for the sculptures along the path. [...]

There’s not been much chance to see how effective we’ve been with the canal works at Axehead pond but the last few days have been just right. The water is pouring out of the old field drains and the ditches are taking it straight to the pond. You can even walk easily on the bit [...]

Near the cabin I found this great wee frame for a shelter. It is really well made and obviously a group had a lot of fun making it. Nice to see the woods being used.

Took a walk down from the cabin with Mike from the S E Scotland Dry Stone Wallers. We’re moving the path from the boggy side of the wall to the other so we need a gateway through it. This is where it’s all happening at the end of the month. Check the diary to see [...]
