Once in a Blue Moon

This is the start of the WOOPLAW25 weekend

Tonight is the second full moon in August which makes it a BLUE MOON.
Just right to start our celebrations.

For anybody spending the night out of doors there are two optimum times of the lunar cycle.
One is the new moon so the sky is dark and great for star gazing and the other is a full moon so you can see about you.
With a blue moon on the Friday night it wasn’t hard to make the decision. You’ll still see some stars as well.

Bring your tent, musical instruments, anti werewolf kit, marshmallows for toasting, food to BBQ or just yourself.
You can probably even carve a wooden spoon if you need one and just join in what ever is happening.

We’ve got the bat experts to do a bat watch, mothman to trap and identify moths overnight and the Edinburgh planetarium are coming down with kit to study the full moon.  You might want a flask of coffee so you can stay awake for all that.

Now that the wood is maturing there isn’t the same demand on the wee campsite as there are great places for camping between the trees.
One weekend we had over 20 tents scattered throughout and you had to look to find them so plenty of room.
Bring your own water and anything else you need as we’re a little way from the shops or anywhere.

Just come and howl at the moon at midnight.
